Report on this year’s Activities
Aviation Day 2011 – A sunny summer day and a lots of
airplanes and aviation related events to enjoy prompted 300 or so folks to come
out and visit our Airport. A great
pancake breakfast was served from 7am to 11:30am. much
to everyone’s delight! Many locals took
advantage of the 20 minute airplane rides that were available to the public. An EMS
aviation drill and the annual candy drop highlighted the aviation events of the
day. Many thanks to the dedicated group
of volunteers who made this event possible.
Your EAA1227 chapter will plough back the profits into the airport for
projects / purchases to support the airport infrastructure.

IT GAVE
ME PLEASURE TO BE RE-ELECTED AS YOUR PRESIDENT AND I WILL DO MY BEST TO SERVE
IN THE CAPACITY.
WE
ALSO WELCOME MARK FARRIS AND ROBERT HILES TO THE BOARD; THEY WERE ELECTED LATE
LAST YEAR.
OUR
CHILI SUPPER WILL BE HELD SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 12TH, AT 6:30PM. (WATCH OUT FOR SNOW
AND ICE, HIGH WINDS, AND LOW VISIBILITY.) THE MEETING WILL BE HELD IN A
HANGAR AT THE AIRPORT, MEMBERS SHOULD BRING A SALAD OR DESSERT, WITH ALL
ELSE BEING FURNISHED BY THE CHAPTER.
WE
RECOGNIZED A NEED TO RAISE OUR ANNUAL DUES SLIGHTLY TO COMPENSATE FOR INCREASES
ETC. FOR THE MEETINGS. WE DISCUSSED THE MATTER EXTENSIVELY AND ALL AGREED
AT THE FIGURES OF $25 FOR SINGLE MEMBERS, AND $40 FOR MARRIED MEMBERS, SOME
WITH CHILDREN WHO GENERALLY COME AS A FAMILY. WE ALSO AGREED MAKE DUES
PAYABLE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR.
OUR
MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO JOIN THE NAITONAL ORGANIZATION OF EAA, DUES ARE $40,
AND CAN BE PAID THROUTH THE LOCAL CHAPTER. THE CHAPTER MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR A
$10 REBATE IF YOU PAY THROUGH US.
WE
WILL BE LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING MANY AT THE CHILI SUPPER. YOU MIGHT BE
READY TO PAY DUES FOR 2012, TO MIKE PROCTOR, TREASURER.
